7-Mile LoopType of Cycling: Road
Distance: ~22 miles Elevation Gain: ~1200ft Description: 7 mile loop is one of our team's favorite everyday rides. An extremely scenic 22 mile loop wraps around both the North-East and South-West sides of the Spokane River. At 7 mile bridge, one might decide to add a bit of extra distance by continuing on to 9-mile falls. The route home from 7-mile includes four very unique types of climbs, three of which are found along the Centennial Trail. |
Fishlake Trail to CheneyType of Cycling: Road
Distance: ~40 miles Elevation Gain: ~1100ft Description: The Fishlake Trail to Cheney includes almost 15 miles of uphill false-flat (and in turn, downhill false-flat on the return) which lends to extremely high average speeds. This ride is our location of choice to help newer riders get comfortable with drafting and where all members get the opportunity to perfect their pace line skills. We typically stop by EWU to refill bottles before the return ride back to campus. Note: there are two short sections of this route that involve riding (or walking) across dirt/gravel. |
"Simon Says"Type of Cycling: Road
Distance: ~25 miles Elevation Gain: ~1750ft Description: This ride heads up river along the Centennial Trail until Freya at which point it cuts along the Eastern edge of Spokane to the Northern slope of Beacon Hill. After a hilly stretch as you ride East, the long climb up Bruce Road begins. From the top of Bruce you ride between fields which makes you feel like you're much further from campus than you actually are. An extremely fast descent back down toward the river and a windy stretch down river along the Centennial Trail brings you back to campus again. |
More routes will be added in the future.
